Long and short walking routes

To hear the twigs snap underneath your feet or the wind whisper through the trees. That makes a pleasant change to screaming brakes and the drone of engines; silence and peace. The immediate area of “Het Verscholen Dorp” and “Aqua Horst” create a beautiful setting for walking. Enjoyable walks with your family or friends in the Leuvenumse Bos, Leuvenhorst, Beekhuizerzand or Hulshorst dune areas (northern side of the Veluwe) will ensure that you have unforgettable memories. You can find maps of the area at the reception of “Het Verscholen Dorp” which describe many long and short marked walking routes. You can also find many marked walks in Harderwijk and the area around it on the wandelzoekpagina (walking tour search page) website. Search for walks in Harderwijk, Hulshorst, Ermelo, Garderen and Vierhouten among other places of interest. It is really worth your while!

You can also arrange walking tours with a guide. You can, this way, walk along the most beautiful places of the Hierdensebeek in the Leuvenumsebos (nature reserve) and experience nature, the local wildlife and the history of the region. Wild animal tracking walking tours are also an option. You can register with one of the programmed tours organised by nature guide Gerrit Rekers or we can organise personal tours to suit your requirements in partnership with Gerrit Rekers.

A walk around the town of Harderwijk is also an experience not to be missed. The Guild of Harderwijk’s Stadsgidsen (Town Guides) has a town tour on a daily basis at 14.00. This could be a normal walking tour or a tour based on a special subject or event. Just check out the great site. We can also organise personal walking or kick bike tours for groups in partnership with the Guild.
